A Night of Gold: Dior Unveils J’adore Intense in Los Angeles

A Night of Gold: Dior Unveils J’adore Intense in Los Angeles

In Beverly Hills, Christian Dior Parfums gathered artists, ambassadors, and friends of the House to rejoice in the debut of J’adore Intense—an amplified new expression of the legendary fragrance and its beloved muse, Rihanna.

On the evening of March 9, the golden mythology of Dior perfume took on a new chapter in Beverly Hills. For one night only, Christian Dior Parfums transformed a private residence in the city into CLUB J’ADORE, a blissful gathering marking the launch of the newest interpretation of its famed fragrance—J’adore Intense.

The evening revolved around a figure who has become inseparable from the scent’s contemporary identity: Rihanna, whose presence as the fragrance’s muse embodies a confident and graceful vision of femininity. Guests stepped into a setting imagined as a shimmering homage to the gilded splendor of Versailles, where warm light and music framed the unveiling of the perfume’s newest incarnation.

The event formed part of a global moment for Dior’s fragrance house, a celebration unfolding simultaneously across cultures yet rooted in a shared reverence for the iconic J’adore bottle and its radiant legacy.

The night brought together leading figures from the House of Dior and a parade of creative voices who represent the brand across continents.

Among those in attendance were Véronique Courtois, Chairman and CEO of Parfums Christian Dior and head of the beauty division at LVMH, as well as Dior’s Perfume Creation Director Francis Kurkdjian, the artist behind the new composition.

Dior ambassadors traveled from around the world to toast the launch, including Japanese actress Yuko Araki, German actress Harriet Herbig-Matten, and Spanish actress Nicole Wallace

Also mingling throughout the evening were Dior Beauty’s friends of the House, including Lana Condor, Skai Jackson, Alexandra Shipp, and Jurnee Smollett, who joined fellow guests in exploring the immersive space.

The atmosphere glistened fluidly between intimate conversation and spectacle, as perfume, music, and fashion merged into a single jubilant rhythm.

Music, Light, and a Fragrant Atmosphere

Music shaped the heartbeat of the night. Live performances punctuated the evening, beginning with the Paris-based DJ duo Doppelganger Paris, whose set opened the dance floor with a sense of European club glamour. Grammy Award–winning pianist Brian Kennedy brought a contrasting aura of musical refinement before the tempo rose again with DJ sets by Kitty Ca$h and DJ Inferno

Under ethereal lights, stone and metallic surfaces, the space looked out upon the Los Angeles skyline like a modern salon—half nightclub, half perfume dreamscape. Guests basked in the environment as if inside the fragrance itself, each room carrying a sense of theatrical anticipation.

The effect exceeded a traditional product launch, it was an unforgettable sensory gathering where sound, scent, and presence intertwined.

Inside the Creation of J’adore Intense

At the heart of the evening was the fragrance itself. Created by Dior’s Perfume Creation Director Francis Kurkdjian, J’adore Intense revisits the bouquet that made the original perfume famous while pressing it toward deeper resonance.

The composition unfolds through a lush concentration of flowers. Jasmine—long associated with the fragrance’s sensual signature—appears with hints of ripe fruit. Rose grows fuller and more enveloping, while ylang-ylang brings a sunlit warmth that lifts the entire arrangement. Beneath this hypnotic bouquet rests a smooth foundation of sandalwood and vanilla, creating a finish that lingers with softness and depth.

The scent creatively amplifies the J’adore identity—building the familiar floral architecture into something richer, darker, and more indulgent.

Kurkdjian’s interpretation deeply honors the fragrance’s history while carrying it forward, revealing how a perfume already embedded in the cultural imagination can still evolve organically.

Since its debut in 1999, J’adore has stood among Dior’s most recognizable creations—a fragrance synonymous with radiance and bold femininity.

With J’adore Intense, the House revisits that legacy through a contemporary lens. The scent invites wearers to experience pleasure without hesitation, echoing the original promise of the perfume while strengthening its emotional vibrancy.

From the golden chandeliers poised just so, to the roaring fireplace filling the rooms with passionate spirit, the Beverly Hills soirée reflected that soul. And at its center was the notion suggested by the fragrance’s name itself—an exclamation of admiration, delight, and desire.

J’adore, after all, exists as both fragrance and declaration.
