Last Thursday the Paramount Hotel nearly burst at the seams when 500 of New York’s best known socialites partied through the night. The occasion? Paramount owner and real estate mogul Aby Rosen’s birthday, for which a crowd that included Bono, Vito Schnabel and Natalia Vodianova turned out in full force.
A-listers nibbled on mini panini bites, courtesy of Corso, in a lobby that had been transformed into a pounding nightclub, complete with mirrored walls, draping velvet curtains and a shimmering D.J. booth. Flower arrangements, cotton candy and bowls of M&Ms were dotted throughout a venue that also boasted a much sought after vintage popcorn machine.
A reputable art collector, Rosen invited Larry Gagosian, Simon de Pury and Taryn Simon who could be spotted mingling alongside fashion forces Vera Wang, Andre Leon Talley and Olivier Theyskens.
As the night grew to a climax, Dom Pérignon and confetti rained down on guests, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Hannah Bronfman and Nicky Hilton among them, while Rosen received a birthday cake replicating the Paramount itself. Beneath a breathtaking ceiling swing commandeered by a Grecian-esque performer, revelers followed Rosen and his D&G clad wife Samantha onto the dance floor, making their mark on the newly revamped Manhattan staple.
