This year’s monumental edition of Art Basel Miami Beach features an exciting partnership with a superstar host: Airbnb. Special for art lovers who want to immerse themselves in the creative energy of Art Basel Miami Beach, Airbnb has partnered with the world-renowned art fair to offer unique accommodations and five curated experiences, available to book through the Airbnb platform. Ninety participants will have the opportunity to engage with art, design, and culture throughout the week, participating in private tours of the fair, dining experiences, and more.
According to Airbnb, nearly half of the nights booked during the weekend of Miami Art Week this year by guests under age 30 are trending in neighborhoods like Wynwood Art District, Brickell, and Coconut Grove. The young and emerging participants reflect Miami’s growing pool of artists, gallerists, collectors, and enthusiasts, encouraging nuanced offerings beyond the art fair. In response, Airbnb is providing high-quality experiences for those visitors to engage in, beginning with a behind-the-scenes tour of Art Basel Miami Beach hosted by its director, Bridget Finn.
In this private tour for attendees, Finn will walk them through standout presentations before doors open to the public. Among solo presentations, guests will explore the “Positions” and “Meridians” sectors, filled with museum-minded works. Additionally, visitors will have an opportunity to speak with Finn about new galleries, concepts, and collaborations that shaped this year’s presentation, and how to navigate the dynamic landscape of Miami Art Week. The tour will conclude with drinks and a conversation in the show’s intimate Collector’s Lounge.
Another bookable activation in Airbnb’s Experience section is an interactive dining experience with the culinary artist Caique Tizzi. At the luncheon, hidden within a pop-up restaurant in the Collector’s Lounge at the fair, guests will take a multisensory journey that reflects on art, history, and food through a thoughtfully curated conversation and meal. From tortilla pressing and carving a pineapple, visitors will build tacos from scratch and learn about Tizzi’s ongoing project, “Tropical Anthology,” through which he recounts narratives of ancestral knowledge, key ingredients to his culinary practice, and more.
A third available Experience to book is a photography workshop will be held with leading artists at Bakehouse Art Complex—the oldest and largest artist- serving organization in Miami. Here, an artist residency provides creators with studio and fabrication spaces, a strong community, and professional and creative development opportunities. For the special experiences, its assistant director, Laura Novoa, will share a captivating introduction to the history and mission of Bakehouse, followed by an intimate studio visit and photography workshop with resident artists and photographers Diana Espín and Pedro Wazzan. Participants will have their work featured in a curated pop-up exhibition within the space and receive a copy of their selected print, too.
