Artsy & SIXTY HOTELS kicked off Frieze Week in New York at the Lower East Side hotel last Wednesday, honoring the summer re-opening of the Tiki Tabu bar.
The bar and lounge is a collaboration with Bushwick-based designer Misha Kahn, who gave the rooftop patio an exotic makeover in preparation for the summer, featuring lava lamps, tropical wallpaper, and polychromatic floor treatment.
The installation is the most recent iteration of Artsy Projects, an ongoing series where the organization invites contemporary artists to re-design public spaces.
Artsy and SIXTY LES plan to host additional events in the space throughout the summer.
