Beyond its striking amenities, the hotel’s commitment to contemporary art is its most notable feature, with works by artists including Yayoi Kusama, Salvador Dalí, Banksy, Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor, Damien Hirst, Yoshitomo Nara, Andy Warhol, Daniel Arsham, Jeff Koons, KAWS, André Saraiva, Roy Lichtenstein, Ugo Rondinone, Christo and Jeanne-Claude, Space Invader, Josh Sperling, and Tom Sachs, among others, on view throughout its spaces. Highlights include large-scale sculptures and installations by KAWS and Sperling in the hotel’s main lobby building, paintings from Hirst’s “Cherry Blossoms” series in the Racquet Club lounge, a “Crystallized” sculpture from Arsham positioned in the property’s main lawn, and works by Warhol, Lichtenstein, Rondinone, and Banksy in public and private dining spaces.

Guests can explore the collection through Sugar Beach’s audio art tour, accessible on phones and through QR codes stationed throughout the property. The self-guided experience offers context on individual works and the artists behind them, transforming a walk around the resort into an informal gallery visit.

The hotel’s commitment to art is also particularly apparent in the Spice of Life villa, where the architecture was designed around the collection. Locally sourced wood and stone, muted custom furnishings, and carefully considered lighting create a restrained backdrop for the various paintings, prints, sculptures, and more. The result is an intimate art-filled retreat, with the landscape itself becoming part of the composition.

Culinary Highlights in Saint Lucia 

Culinary experiences are another core pillar of Sugar Beach, with seven restaurants and bars offering everything from fine dining and Southeast Asian small plates to casual Caribbean fare and grab-and-go treats. Across the property, the culinary teams work with local farmers, fishermen, food producers, distillers, and chocolatiers to bring the flavors and ingredients of Saint Lucia into the resort experience.

At the signature Saltwood restaurant, sweeping views of the Pitons and sea accompany gourmet classics and an extensive selection of premium cuts, including Japanese A5 and Australian Wagyu. The experience begins with a chef’s amuse-bouche and continues with a sommelier-guided wine pairing. Adjacent Saltwood Bar provides a more relaxed setting for cocktails before or after dinner, with botanical ingredients, champagne, spirits, and live music in the evenings.

For a distinctly Caribbean meal, Bonté Restaurant & Bar is located steps from the sand, with a menu influenced by the flavors of Saint Lucia. Guests can dine on the deck or barefoot on the beach, choosing from salads, tacos, flatbreads, homemade pastas, and Creole specialties such as Curried Goat on the Bone. Weekly Creole Buffet and BBQ nights add a more communal element to the experience.

At Jalousie Grill, the focus is on relaxed, all-day beachfront dining. Seafood and butcher cuts are prepared on an Argentinian grill, while salads, sharing plates, smoked fish and meats, and Caribbean-inspired dishes round out the menu. At Cane Bar, guests can get a change of pace with Southeast Asian-inspired small plates, sushi, seafood, stir-fries, and Asian-influenced cocktails. The Terrace, meanwhile, provides an elegant start to the day with breakfast overlooking the lily pond and Caribbean, while Boopa’s serves as the resort’s bakery and grab-and-go café, offering coffee, tea, smoothies, freshly baked goods, cakes, and ice cream flavored with locally inspired ingredients.

The recently introduced Cocoa Mill adds another layer to Sugar Beach’s culinary identity. Dedicated to Saint Lucia’s cacao heritage, the experience invites guests to explore the island’s longstanding chocolate traditions through tastings, workshops, and demonstrations. That focus will continue later this year through the resort’s returning partnership with Los Angeles-based Compartés Chocolatier.

Wellness, Fitness, and the Art of Living 

Wellness at Sugar Beach begins with the setting itself. The Rainforest Spa is tucked into the actual rainforest, with treatment rooms built on stilts and surrounded by lush foliage and mountain views. Ten treatment rooms—including four couples’ rooms—offer a range of therapies inspired by the island, alongside a nail salon, hair services, and a traditional temazcal, an earthen steam dome connected to Saint Lucia’s Indigenous heritage.

The spa’s partnership with Augustinus Bader brings natural luxury skincare into the experience through treatments exclusive to Sugar Beach. Among the offerings is the Rainforest Renewal Ritual, which combines a body peel, full-body massage, and facial, while the Coconut Milk Healing Massage incorporates Saint Lucian coconut milk into its restorative treatment.

Just steps from the pool and shoreline, the resort’s beachside wellness and fitness center offers a more active counterpart to the spa. The space is equipped with Technogym and Peloton equipment and includes a dedicated yoga studio, floor-to-ceiling windows, and views over the rainforest and turquoise water. Guests can book personal training, private yoga, and tennis instruction, while the weekly schedule includes complimentary and bookable HIIT, Pilates, yoga, and boot camp classes.

The property also offers an extensive selection of land and water activities, from tennis and beach volleyball to snorkeling, kayaking, sailing, windsurfing, and Hobie Cat sailing. The newer Sugar Beach Racquet Club expands those offerings with tennis, padel, and pickleball courts overlooking Petit Piton. Wellness can also be customized for guests staying at Spice of Life, which has its own private gym equipped with Peloton equipment, free weights, a treadmill, and a rowing machine. Its outdoor showers can also be transformed into private spa treatment spaces, allowing guests to bring the Rainforest Spa experience into the residence.

Sugar Beach’s Partnerships & Programming

Sugar Beach’s powerful identity results in an exciting calendar of partnerships, too. Throughout the year, the resort brings together wellness experts, artists, and culinary creatives for programming designed to encourage guests to participate rather than simply observe. This summer, celebrity trainer Simone de la Rue returned to Sugar Beach with Body By Simone for a second residency, following the success of the inaugural program. Designed around family wellness and multi-generational connection, the July experience included Simone’s signature full-body workouts, Family Movement Classes, children’s and teen yoga, and Family Sunset Yoga overlooking the Pitons.

Later this year, illustrator Monica Ahanonu will return to the property for a second residency. Her programming will include Sip & Sketch: Emotion in Color, handbag customization demonstrations, children’s T-shirt and magnet design classes, and intimate portrait sessions during the resort’s Social Sundowners. The partnership with Compartés will also build on Sugar Beach’s connection to Saint Lucia’s culinary traditions. Returning for the 2026–27 festive season, the chocolatier will bring its playful approach to the Cocoa Mill, creating chocolate inspired by local flavors while hosting tastings, workshops, and interactive experiences centered on the island’s cacao heritage.

Alongside these headline collaborations, Sugar Beach’s everyday programming offers plenty of ways to experience the destination. Guests can book rum tastings and rum-and-chocolate pairings, cocktail masterclasses, sunset cruises, live music, and a range of excursions that extend beyond the resort, including visits to the island’s Sulphur Springs and nearby mud baths.
