Whitewaller has put together a few of Berlin‘s best spots for a drink and a bite to eat. You’ll want to be sure you check them out while you’re in town this week.
Nobelhart & Schmutzig, Kreuzberg
At Nobelhart & Schmutzig, traditional concepts are out and new culinary concepts are in. With a classic à la carte concept dedicated to locally sourced seasonal products, the restaurant offers dishes that focus on no more than two to four dominant flavors, such as olive oil, pepper, nutmeg, and vanilla.

Whitewaller recommends: Eating the milk, sea buckthorn, and parsley.
dóttir, Mitte
Influenced by Nordic cuisine and Chef Victoria Eliasdóttir’s Scandinavian roots, dóttir is the third restaurant by Stephan Landwehr, Boris Radczun, and Moritz Estermann. Plaster walls, wooden floorboards, vintage furnishings, and a bar made of yellow travertine are found within dóttir’s space—two rooms divided into a bar, dining area, and open kitchen.
Whitewaller recommends: Relaxing in the enchanting courtyard.

Bar Zentral, Charlottenburg
Located opposite to the Theater des Westens and around the corner from the Savoy, Bar Zentral is an urban premium bar with an unforgettable Hidden Fortress–designed interior. The bar is in one of the arches of the S-Bahn viaduct, which holds the train tracks from Zoo Station to Western Germany.
Whitewaller recommends: Ordering the 2666 cocktail.

The Store Kitchen, Mitte
Located on the ground floor of Soho House Berlin is The Store—a spacious, clean interior full of charm and a friendly staff. There, guests can find fashion, furniture, music, art, books, and The Store Kitchen—an eatery that provides delicious lunch, house-baked sourdough bread, healthy treats like vegan cakes, and raw-vegan and gluten free options.
Whitewaller recommends: Choosing from the selection of salads, soups, and cakes at the counter.
