More than 200 guests gathered at a Chelsea rooftop garden on July 8 for ArtBinder’s “Bohemian Summer Soirée,” a celebration of The Viewer hosted by ArtBinder CEO and founder Alexandra Chemla, Art Production Fund’s Yvonne Force Villareal, Girls star Jemima Kirke, and artist José Parlá.
During the event, sponsored by W and Lancôme, guests could have crystal-embellished makeup applied at Lancôme’s custom beauty bar while Jay & Lee’s soulful guitar music filled the hot summer air. The rustic, lush green rooftop was completely transformed by Madeline Weinrib. Moroccan-inspired rugs and pillows covered the floor and padded cozy seating areas. Bright carnation garlands from Stone Fox Bride and twinkle lights dripped from above. It felt like a bohemian secret garden, with plenty of chilled margaritas by Maestro Dobel and refreshing Wölffer Estate rosé.
Bill Cunningham photographed guests like Marianne Boesky, Anton Kern, Amy Cappellazzo, Alexander Acquavella, Francesca Di Mattio, Haley Mellin and Will Cotton, Damián Ortega, and Wes Gordon.
The Viewer is a free iPad app that allows users to browse artists and galleries and their inventories throughout the world, creating a platform for easier communication between buyers and high end galleries. The app is an extension of ArtBinder and aims to help fill what the company considers to be a technological void in the art industry.
