Last Thursday night marked the opening of the BOUNDLESS SPACE charity sale supporting Burning Man Art Initiative at Sotheby’s. To mark the event art advisor, philanthropist, and co-chair of the sale host committee, Thomas Rom, opened his home to collectors, curators, artists, writers, thinkers, and leaders of the Burning Man project in celebration of this unprecedented initiative. Hosting with him were his co-chairs Yvonne Force Villareal and Fab 5 Freddy, together with Whitewall Magazine and Sake Baby. The guests were treated to a special performance of sacred music by Walid Ben Selim accompanied by harpist Lexie Lowell.
In attendance were Burning Man cultural founder Harley K. Dubois and Burning Man Project board members Matthew Kwatinetz, Matt Goldberg, Leo Villareal, and, of course, Fab 5 Freddy.
The innovative and evocative exhibition display at the New York galleries of Sotheby’s designed by David Korins opened to public Saturday, and the sale is open online until October 8.
