For this week’s Brand New, we’re taking a look at some new releases by brands like Chanel and Rebecca Minkoff that are perfect for the giving season ahead.
Chanel continues the spirit of Mademoiselle with their spring/summer 2018 fine jewelry collection. The symbol of a camellia was traditionally a floral addition to the buttonhole of a men’s lapel. As an iconic fashion statement, Gabrielle Chanel borrowed the camellia from its masculine fashion roots as a symbol of timeless elegance. Following its own set of rules, the camellia exudes boldness and irreverence. Beauty and simplicity transcends this collection, bestowing infinite elegance and eternal desire.
In an alliance with PETA against animal cruelty, The Kooples have given up the use of animal fur in their designs. To honor this fur-free commitment, they have created an exclusive clutch in vegan leather. All the proceeds from sales of this clutch will be donated to PETA. The Parisian label and its devotion to ethical fashion promote a more sustainable approach in the industry. The Kooples x PETA clutches will be available at the Kooples stores and online.
The collaboration between entrepreneur Lapo ELkann and furniture house Kartell was launched exclusively at Barneys New York. Kartell+Lapo furniture is inspired by themes and patterns from both fashion and automotive worlds, transforming Kartell classics with colourful graphics. The limited edition 40-piece collection is now available as pop-up in Barneys New York’s Madison Avenue flagship through March, in the Chelsea Passage space on the 9th floor.
Damien Hirst’s collaboration with Lalique Art makes its U.S. debut in Miami. A series of ten pieces from the ‘Eternal’ collection created by Damien Hirst and crafted by Lalique’s master glassmakers, is on display at Lalique’s Miami boutique. The limited edition crystal pieces feature a selection of the artist’s most recognizable motifs including the dove and cross, and will be exhibited at the Lalique boutique in New York from April 30 to June 11.
Diptyque’s sensual Tubéreuse candle is a polarizing floral scent perfect for gifting this spring. The brand continues its dedication as a leader in the fragrance industry by providing best-sellers for the seasons ahead.
Rebecca Minkoff’s patch-like clutch is all things bright and geometric. With a cream and beige base, the red, pink and blue featured stripes add a pop of color, a perfect statement piece.
With a new colorful collection and the resurgence of their place within fashion, Ugg has transformed slippers. The soft cloud-like textures are complimented by the pastel palette and simplicity of the shape.
