Brand New: Gucci’s G-Timeless Watch, Dior’s Bobby Bag, and More

In this week’s edition of Brand New, we’re looking at the latest collections, collaborations, and products from brands like Gucci, Dior, Marni, and more.

Gucci has invited a team of artists to create collaborative works surrounding the launch of its G-Timeless watch. Working with a global community of creatives—including previous collaborators and a selection of first-timers—the initiative invites artists to make a work that incorporates the timepiece, which features a stone dial decorated with iconic Gucci bees. Collaborators include names like Winnie Chi, Kieron Livingstone, Balfua, David Macho, and Cambo.

In celebration of its Fall 2020 collection, Dior has launched the Bobby bag. Named for the couturier’s beloved dog, the half-moon shaped handbag is a creation of timeless modernity, featuring the house’s signature details like a gold “CD” emblem on the front buckle and the “30 Montaigne” address on the back. Easily carried by hand or over the shoulder with its detachable strap, the Bobby bag is available in three sizes and comes in four color options—black, white, or brown leather, or a blue Dior Oblique canvas.

Fashion house Marni and global luxury platform Farfetch have joined together to bring us a new collection entitled “ZOOTERICO.” The latest home objects and furniture line is inspired by the zodiac signs, inviting fashion and design lovers into a conversation on the interpretations of horoscopes. Seen in twelve suites of products representing each of the signs, “ZOOTERICO” is created in collaboration with Marni’s long-time Colombian artisan collaborators. Made from materials like resin, natural fibers, and recycled PVC, the collection is comprised of one-of-a-kind items including candle holders, umbrella stands, tableware, benches, rocking chairs, and chaise lounges in vibrant colors.

Louis Vuitton recently opened a new menswear store in Bellagio Las Vegas. Joining the house’s womenswear boutique, which opened in Bellagio last fall, the location was conceived as a travel destination that incorporates the house’s history with modern art, culture, and architectural design. Clients at the location will have access to bespoke services across all men’s categories and a special outdoor terrace for private appointments.

Launched this month in honor of July’s birthstone, the ruby, Gemfields and jewelry brand Zoe & Morgan have debuted a new collaborative collection. Combining Gemfields’s Mozambican rubies with Zoe & Morgan’s modern styles, the new designs include a selection of rings and necklaces highlighting the brilliant responsibly-sourced stones—like our favorite ring, set in gold, which has a central cushion cut stone surrounded by twelve smaller round gems.

For its latest summer release, Chanel has introduced eight new shades of Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue. A liquid lipstick with a glossy topcoat, the product comes in full-coverage color options from light beige to deep red, with a quick-drying formula that is made to last.

Givenchy has unveiled a new take on its iconic Antigona bag—the Antigona Soft. Embodying the relaxed elegance of the house’s Fall 2020 ready-to-wear designs, the large rectangular handbag has been imagined in a smooth calfskin that offers a nonchalant slouch to the architectural style of the original design. Available in two size options, the Antigona Soft features a removable strap for a three-way wear and offers several color and texture options—like pearl gray, woven white, and midnight blue, or seasonal hues like candy pink and dune.

Salvatore Ferragamo’s new “Silk Capsule” collection brings with it a special look into the house’s historical archives. Including a series of accessories, foulards, and ready-to-wear, the new designs are centered around Ferragamo’s vibrant printed silks—a tradition started in the 1960s—and include items like the ruffled Viva shoe, the brand’s signature bags, and other wearables.
