For this week’s Brand New, we’re showing you the latest from brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Leica, and more.
Louis Vuitton is getting celestial with its new collection men’s Spring/Summer 2019 pre-collection. With out-of-this-world details like planetary graphics, metallic and reflective materials, and rubber patches, the luminous new collection offers astronaut-inspired pieces for the traveler of today. Accessories like scarves and bags complement staples like tops, trousers, and shoes—all with an intergalactic nod to the stars, plasmas, and planets.

Gucci’s DIY philosophy is intensifying with a new personalization service for the brand. Self-expression is harnessed for a new program that allows for both men and women to elaborate on their personal style—with Gucci pieces like knits, sneakers, and signature bags like House, Dionysus, Sylvie, and Ophidia. The DIY package debuts a wool sweater (a crew neck, a shawl collar bomber, or a button-through cardigan) in four base colors (green, blue, red, and white). Each piece features one large intarsia-knitted logo on its center—an alphabetical letter of the wearer’s choice—with a label tag that reads “ABCDEFGUCCI.” For the occasion, six artists have recreated the styles with fun new works on Gucci’s social media accounts.
Camera-maker Leica has debuted its first line of timepieces. Limited-run and made in Germany, the new Leica L1 and Leica L2 watches were designed by Achim Heine—a professor who oversaw the design of many Leica camera products over the years. With a stainless-steel case, a special crown fluting, and glass with a cambered shape, the details of the watches are reminiscent of the lens of a camera.

Moleskin is channeling personal reflection with its new line of luxurious journals in its “Passion” collection. Each is dedicated to large, special moments in your life—such as the Baby journal, the Traveller journal, and the Recipe journal—to expand upon your thoughts. Each premium box includes sophisticated details like acid-free paper tabbed sections, stickers, two ribbon bookmarks, and more.
Todd Snyder is continuing its partnerships with Champion and Timex for a collection of pieces dedicated to one of America’s favorite pastimes—Peanuts. For the holiday airings of the Charlie Brown specials, the brand has released a vintage-inspired Timex watch collection and Champion knitwear pieces to bring nostalgia to life. For attire, we see unforgettable characters like Charlie Brown, Linus, Snoopy, and Woodstock in cartoon graphics that were printed on vintage machines in Canada. And for the watches, we see a variety of face colors—like red, white, and blue—as a background for the characters, as well, with black and brown leather bands.
