On September 19th, Whitewall and Mandarin Oriental, New York held a cocktail event unveiling the New York hotel’s new Suite 5000 with art curated by the magazine’s editor in chief Katy Donoghue. To celebrate, Dom Perignon partnered with Mandarin Oriental and Whitewall to showcase for a limited time the Jeff Koons Balloon Venus.
The intimate evening brought together New York City art collectors, gallerists, artists, and contemporary art specialists such as Laura Skoler, Susan Hancock, Corice Arman, Kyle de Woody, Shamika Sanders, Polina Berlin, Shelter Serra, and Max Dolgicer.
The impressive 3,300 square-foot suite with interior design by BBG-BBGM has amazing views overlooking Central Park West and Columbus Circle, and some incredible contemporary art inside. Whitewall partnered with Marlborough Chelsea, Friedman Benda Gallery, Grey Area, and Paul Kasmin Shop to exhibit artworks by Kenny Scharf, Sze Tsung Leang, Shelter Sherra, Forrest Myers, Ray Geary, James Nares, and Jonah Freeman and Justin Lowe. Guests staying in Suite 5000 get the unique opportunity to live with, learn about, and potentially acquire original contemporary art.
