Tuesday night was a busy one at the Whitney Museum of American Art! Between clinking champagne flutes; music by DJs Questlove, Mia Moretti, and Lion Babe; a VR experience photo booth by Samsung; and a live art performance by MPA; the New York art crowd celebrated the Whitney’s annual Art Party.
Co-chaired by Karlie Kloss, Common, Brandon Maxwell, Micaela Erlanger, and Michael Carl, as well as the museum’s Director Adam Weinberg and Chief Curator Scott Rothkopf, many notable guests attended the long awaited event, including Christina Ricci, Virgil Abloh, Jason Biggs, Georgina Bloomberg, Derek Blasberg, Hari Nef, Jon Neidich, Harley Viera Newton, Casey Spooner, Timo Weiland, Jayson Musson, Ian Cheng, Ben Coonley, Alex da Corte, Aidan Koch, Virginia Overton, Heron Preston, Nate Lowman, Chuck Close, Victor Cruz, and Karrueche Tran.
Guests were offered the opportunity to enjoy the museum’s innovative and technology-focused exhibit “Dreamlands: Immersive Cinema and Art, 1905-2016,” which was a nice escape for those who needed a little break from the evening’s festivities.
All Art Party proceeds benefited the Whitney’s Independent Study Program and other education initiatives.
