Whitewaller is back and ready to bring you all you need to know for the Miami fairs. All week-long we’ll bring you “Insider Tips” from those in-the-know on what to see, do, eat, and drink. Next up, Nina Johnson-Milewski, Gallery Diet founder and owner.
#HappyHour
For me Miami is always about the local unexpected treasures, just up the street from our new home is Churchill’s pub, a British dive in the heart of little Haiti, how’s that for multi cultural?
#BestinMiami
The Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) is one of my favorite local spots. The view is incredible and I’m excited to see what their new director will do for the community. One of our artists, Nicolas Lobo, just had a solo exhibition there.
#TopArtSpot
ABMB 2015 is all about checking out big moves and new spaces! My gallery, Gallery Diet, just moved to a much bigger space in Little Haiti so I hope everyone visits our new home! We will be showing new paintings by Ann Craven, who was my teacher in New York when I was in college so this show feels especially close to my heart. And I’m looking forward to NADA and seeing their new location at the Fountainbleau.
#MyMiamiTreat
Also happening during Basel week is our show “Trees in Oolite,” which is on public view in our new location’s courtyard. It’s the first outdoor-design exhibition in Gallery Diet’s history and highlights the work by eight designers and artists: Jim Drain, June14, Mimi Jung, Emmett Moore, Jonathan Gonzalez/Office GA Architecture, Jonathan Nesci, Snarkitecture, and Katie Stout.
