Olivier Malingue’s London: Barrafina, Serpentine Gallery, and Oscar

This week, we’re covering Frieze London and its surrounding events. To give you an insider look at the city, we’re talking to those in-the-know, who are sharing their favorite spots to dine, drink, relax, and see art at. Below, we hear from gallerist Olivier Malingue.

WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
I love Barrafina in Covent Garden. The food is amazing and it has an open kitchen—I love to watch the chefs at work. Since moving to London, I also very much enjoy exploring the many traditional British pubs that are on offer, and so far I have never been disappointed!

WHERE TO SEE ART
London is a fantastic place for art—there is always a great exhibition to see. I love going to the Serpentine Gallery, Royal Academy, Tate Modern, and the Hayward Gallery, among others. I can’t wait to see The Clock by Christian Marclay at Tate Modern. I saw it a few years ago in Venice at the Biennale, but didn’t see enough of it!

WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
A walk through the Frieze Sculpture Park in Regent’s Park, which showcases work by international artists in a beautiful outdoor setting, followed by a drink at Oscar at the Charlotte Street Hotel.
