In our latest update on how brands are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, we’re sharing details from Prada, La Prairie, Balmain, and more.
Prada is continuing its support by helping fund PROTEGGIMI—a research project on male susceptibility to Coronavirus. The San Raffaele Hospital in Milan will investigate the role of male hormones in relation to the virus, funded by Prada Group.
Balmain has partnered with long-time collaborator (RED), as well as Akoni and NTWRK, to support The Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response—the largest multilateral funder of health systems worldwide. Akoni and Balmain will donate twelve pairs of Balmain’s Wonder Boy sunglasses specially customized by Olivier Rousteing to the NTWRK website for sale. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to The Global Fund’s COVID-19 Response.
La Prairie is providing funds to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, which ensures that help will be given to the most vulnerable communities located in densely packed urban areas.
Fine jewelry brand Harwell Godfrey is designing a pendant that will benefit World Central Kitchen (WCK). Founder Lauren Harwell Godfrey has chosen a pendant made from malachite, diamonds, and 18k gold that will retail at $2,500. 30 percent of profits from each sale will be donated directly to WCK.
