Da Giacomo, Fondazione Prada, The Park Hyatt Hotel and More: Vincent Van Duysen’s Milan

All this week in preparation for Salone del Mobile and miart, we’re hearing from leading design, art, culture, and lifestyle experts on how they enjoy Milan.

“When I’m in Milan, I love to go to a canteen in Santa Lucia, Da Giacomo for fish, Torre di Pisa in Brera for the Florentine cuisine, and La Latteria (I’ve been going there since the 1980s, when I lived in Milan). For art, I love to go to Villa Necchi Campiglio, Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore, Cinque Vie (the oldest part of Milan, where there are a lot of events on handcrafts during Salone), Fondazione Prada, Osservatorio Fondazione Prada (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II), and the Gallery and Depot of Nina Nilufar. And for relaxation, I like to stay in my hotel room, the corner room, on the fifth floor of the Park Hyatt—with a direct view into the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, watching Milan either waking up or going to sleep. It’s been my home away from home in Milan for the last 15 years.”
