Last week at Musée d’art Moderne in Paris, Dior presented its newest high jewelry collection entitled “Dior, Dior, Dior.” The unique pieces paid homage to haute couture and focused on intricate details found in handcrafted pieces, inspired especially by the lace in Christian Dior’s archives.
“I wanted to capture the sensation of ethereal lightness and the haute couture signature of lace which, like ribbons, silk, and draping, is essential to the Dior lexicon,” said jewelry designer Victoire de Castellane.
In the collection we see various colorful gemstones, such as emeralds, blue and pink sapphires, yellow diamonds, and spessartite garnets. Openwork necklaces, double rings, palm bracelets, and asymmetrical earrings shine with details like white gold lace, flowers, and pink spinels. Preciously sculpted like sequins and lace, the pieces embrace the movement of the wrist, neck, and fingers, mimicking technical workings and savoire-faire in haute couture design.
