For EXPO Chicago 2016, we handpicked a few insiders—a select group of those in-the-know on all things Chicago—that shared with us how to navigate the city during the art fair. Next up, we have April Francis, founder of DOSE Market, who shares her top spots to eat, drink, network, and relax this week.
Where to eat
Love all the eats at La Sirena Clandestina, Duck Duck Goat, and Irazu. It’s always a delight to try the daily empanadas at La Sirena—Stephanie’s fried rice and Irazu’s chicken noodle soup is the best in Chicago.
Where to sip
The Snaquiri is a true delight at, of all places, Sportsman’s Club—love! I live for the Ipsento Latte at Ipsento Coffee in the AM and for cocktails I hit The Whistler, El Che, and Scofflaw—all bomb.
Where to network
Love Soho House for networking. The creative community has been so energized by the programming and environment here. It’s, “Hello, hello, hello,” all around, upon arrival. So much happens every day on every floor.
Where to see art
Dose Market!
Where to have fun
The Empty Bottle and Danny’s.
Where to relax
I’ll be hitting the gothic coziness of the Land and Sea Dept‘s expansive second floor at the Chicago Athletic Association for eats, drinks, and games.
