This week, Whitewaller Miami launches for Art Basel in Miami Beach (December 7—10). To help guide you to the best spots in town—where you can eat, drink, see art, and relax at, we hear from a group of insiders. Next up, artist Jen Stark.
WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
Just south of downtown Miami there’s this gas station that has great a Cuban café and wine selection called “El Carajo.” When you walk inside the gas station, you’ll find the restaurant El Carajo International Tapas & Wines, which serves delicious authentic Spanish tapas.
WHERE TO SEE ART
PAMM always has great exhibitions and their outdoor space is amazing, with views right on the bay, beautiful landscaping, and a café. The Rubell Collection, ICA Miami, and Margulies Collection are also good spots to see great art. Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a beautiful place to explore and be inspired.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
I enjoy going to Soho Beach House for a super relaxed and pampered beach experience. They have a spa inside and comfy chairs out by the ocean with food and drink service. When on South Beach, it’s always fun walking into the tourist stores like Wings on Collins Avenue. They sell wacky souvenirs and clothes, and it’s always fun to get weird in there with friends.
