Whitewaller is back and ready to bring you all you need to know for the Miami fairs. All week-long we’ll bring you “Insider Tips” from those in-the-know on what to see, do, eat, and drink. Next up, artist Kenny Scharf.

“The Mmmm for a date lunch across the street from my mural in the Wynwood Walls. El Tucán for that nuevo coco-loco cabaret, cabernet, and crab supper club. Manolo’s for their bona-fide midnight chimichurros. Then a stroll to Magnum’s Piano Bar for karaoke and pink kamikazes. Gramps always a good two for one and booty calls.”

“Is there awesome beyond SoBe and billionaire parties? The answer is yes, Lady Bro! Hop on a courtesy Audi and head for a tour of the Miami Design District. Take a Citi Bike rickshaw to the museum of street art known as Weird Wynwood, where it’s okay to show your tats, but be sure to leave your passport at the hotel. For a cherry on top, take the care-free trolley hybrid bus to PAMM. Check out the “Ping Pong Art Show” at the Alfred Dupont Building. Finally, no hardcore architectural tourist will be satisfied without a visit to Stiltsville!”

“The Fear of Being Left Out is nothing to sneeze at. Consult your life coach on how to fine-tune your radar for the most fabulous vernissages. Know that like the Titanic before the iceberg, Basel floats many boats and sinks many ships each year in a sleek week of managed Swiss mayhem. But seriously not to be missed is the Littlest Sister Art Fair. While there, check out the Lone Wolf of the swamp, Nick Lobo, at the new Diet Gallery.”
#MyMiamiTreat
“A visit to three stellar shows within walking distance in the Design District. One is Martha Friedman at Locust Projects. Two is the “100+ Degrees in the Shade” show, an exhausting survey of Miami artists. Three is “The Machine Show” at the enigmatic Swampspace, where the cafecitos are blacker than night and more bitter than hell. Oh, and I almost forgot, my show at Fred Snitzer’s will be out of this world . . .”
