Since first developing a timepiece manufactured in gold in 2004, a dream for watchmaker François-Paul Journe himself, F.P. Journe has remained the only watch brand to produce movements in 18K rose gold. This summer, the watchmaker unveiled its newest face in 18K rose gold with mirrored numbers embossed on the dial. It maintains the simple, yet spectacular nature of the brand’s watches and Journe’s insistence that indispensable information be available at first glance.
To create the unique dial, watchmakers at F.P. Journe sanded the base to perfection before applying a layer of silver. Using a diamond tool, the numbers were then brought to the surface of the dial, giving them their mirror-like appearance. Finally, print transfers created the rounded-out shape of the time indicators and the brand’s logo, a process that can sometimes require up to five successive layers. The watches also feature signature drop-shaped hands.

The new dial is available in the classic Chronomêtre Souverain, Octa Rêserve, and Octa Lune.
