Four Seasons Pop Down Comes to Philadelphia

Last week, Four Seasons celebrated its new location Philadelphia (set to open in the spring of 2019) with its second-ever Pop Down event. The first took place in Toronto in the fall of 2017—kicking off a new, one-night only kind of immersive soirée that merged food, drink, and creativity.

While other luxury brands are hosting Pop Ups, the Four Seasons is bucking trends with a global series of Pop Downs, with Philadelphia setting the stage for the most recent one-of-a-kind night.

The luxury hotel brand returns to the City of Brotherly Love at the very top of Comcast‘s new tower in Center City. Designed by Sir Norman Foster, the location will feature restaurants by Chef Greg Vernick and Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

On September 25, guests including Amir Johnson, Ben Simmons, Wilson Chandler, and Osayi Osunde gathered at BOK. The rooftop venue—with views of the Comcast tower in the distance—was completely transformed into a lush garden. Botanical sculptures, whimsical florals, hidden foliage-covered alcoves, reflective details, and dream-like lighting created an utterly romantic environment, all imaged by celebrity florist and creative director of the Four Seasons Philadelphia, Jeff Leatham. Leatham was also behind four interactive flower-framed installations set up at locations around the city where the public could stop for the perfect photo—in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, in Passyunk Square, at 30th Street Station, and the Comcast Center.

Attendees enjoyed delicious culinary treats from Vongerichten, Vernick, and Chef Maxime Michaud in person. While enjoying music curated by DJ Jazzy Jeff, guests washed down bites like wagyu beef pastrami, toasted egg yolk with caviar, and citrus yellowfin crudo, with drinks by mixologists Sarah Rahl (from Four Seasons Austin), Mariano Ricciari (from Four Seasons Dubai), and Valentino Longo (from Four Seasons at The Surf Club).

Before heading home, delightful desserts from Lasheeda Perry (Four Seasons Atlanta) and Christopher Ford (Beverly Wilshire) were indulged in.
