As the bustle of fashion month comes to a close, this week’s fresh fall edition of Friday Fête brings you behind the scenes of recent happenings like a night with Krug Champagne and Ryuichi Sakamoto, a Zegna OasiCashmere Launch, and More.

On the evening of September 20 at the Brooklyn Museum, legendary composer Ryuichi Sakamoto and Krug presented “Suite for Krug in 2008.” The momentous three-part symphony was inspired by the special harvest champagne creations of that year—Krug Clos du Mesnil 2008, Krug 2008, and Krug Grande Cuvée 164ème Édition. The Suite was presented alongside a fantasy for the senses. Krug aficionados and fellow creatives—including Paul Rudd, Chloe Flower, Questlove, Jeremy O. Harris, Joshua Bell, Kilo Kish, Karen Elson, Dev Hynes, and PJ Mattan—enjoyed a remarkable live performance, champagne tasting, and seated dinner. Sakamoto visited the Krug maison in 2019 and was deeply inspired to translate the wonders of taste into his music. The composer and his team worked closely with Krug’s Cellar Master Julie Cavil, visiting Reims to record sounds from the vineyard and the cellars. In celebration of this magical fusion of champagne and music, the company has created “Krug Music Pairings.” Each year, the house will invite select musicians to discover a new champagne and thus create a unique playlist based on their experience with taste, memory, and emotion.

Zegna launched the “Oasi Cashmere” collection at its New York flagship boutique on September 22. The origins of the ultimate soft and traceable cashmere lie in the brand’s own nature reserve, Oasi Zegna, which is thirty times the size of Central Park.
