Friday Fête: Dinner with Longchamp, the Guggenheim Gala with Dior, and More

With a busy fall underway, this edition of Friday Fête is looking at happenings around the world, like dinner with Longchamp, the Guggenheim Museum’s gala with Dior, a party with Diptyque at The Ritz-Carlton, and more.

On October 27, Longchamp commemorated the redesign of its Fifth Avenue flagship boutique in New York with an evening meal at the store, which has been fashioned around the concept of a Parisian apartment. Along with hosts Paul Lorraine, Longchamp’s President and CEO of America and the brand’s Managing Director Olivier Cassegrain, partygoers mingled amid its refreshed interiors before being seated for dinner, which took place at a banquet table that stretched through bright retail environment. The boutique itself was the star of the evening, outfitted smartly with a blend of classic and contemporary elements, like ornate molding, pops of colorful paint, and eye-catching artwork and lighting fixtures.

On October 29, we headed to the revival of New York’s most coveted Halloween celebration—Boom Halloween at The Standard. The night began with dinner at The Standard Grill, hosted by Yola Mezcal’s Gina Correll Aglietti, Yola Jimenez, and Lykke Li. Later in the evening, the intimate meal transitioned into a star-studded affair at The Top of The Standard,the Boom Boom Room, where names like Prabal Gurung, Cara Delivigne, Emily Ratajkowski, Mark Ronson, and Grace Gummer arrived in costume. The bash offered a night of drinks and dancing, and featured performances by Stretch Armstrong, Sudan Archives, and a DJ set by Mia Moretti.

Last Thursday, November 3, KREWE unveiled its New York flagship on Gansevoort Street with a party harnessing the energy of its home in New Orleans. Under the twinkling light of the boutique’s ornate Murano glass chandelier, attendees like the house’s Founder & Creative Director Stirling Barrett, Zach Kupperman, Allen Van Norden, Kristen Shannon, and Olivia Erwin Rosenthal were treated to bites by the James Beard Award Winning Chef Justin Devillier, caviar and potato chips, fried chicken from Popeye’s, wine from the retail space’s own natural wine parlor, and specially conceived cocktails by the James Beard Award Winner Neal Bodenheimer. To the live music of Calvin Johnson & Native Son, guests were invited to shop the brand’s latest offerings throughout the evening, with ten percent of sales donated to providing eye care for youth in need, under the KREWE Foundation.

On Monday at the Museum of Modern Art, the Art Students League of New York held its annual gala, honoring the artist and alumna Faith Ringgold and the New York City Department of Parks & Recreation Commissioner Susan Donoghue for their support of the organization. Welcoming guests to the fête were chairs Robin Lechter Frank, Dr. Ronald Frank, and Jon Kamen, and the Artistic and Executive Director of the league, Michael Hall, who started the evening off with cocktails under alumna Barbara Kruger’s Thinking of You. I Mean Me. I Mean You. Following live demonstrations from artists of the league, we saw guests (like Beth Rudin DeWoody, Willie Cole, Marc Dennis, Lady Pink, and Kamrooz Aram) come together for dinner, wherein Michael Hall and Tschabalala Self addressed the crowd. While the evening came to a close with a performance from Simone Dinnerstein, the online auction will continue through November 15.

Tuesday evening in Mexico City saw Tiffany & Co. commemorating the release of its new “Lock” collection” at Torre Cuarzo. Attendees like Valentina Ferrer, Gigi Grigio, Anitta, Orson Padilla, and Alex Acero were among the first to preview the non-gendered collection, introducing the elegant wearables with a Lock Room experience and music from Mario García Torres. Then came dinner by Edo Kobayashi and a private performance from the Grammy-nominated C. Tangana, before closing out the party with late-night dancing.

Back in New York City, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s 2022 Guggenheim International Gala took place on Wednesday night, presented in honor of Richard Armstrong and fashion maison, Dior. Dior-clad guests like Alexandra Daddario, Thuso Mbedu, Mickalene Thomas, Isabela Merced, and Derek Blasberg came together in support of the museum, enjoying music by Norah Jones and a sumptuous menu created by the chef and entrepreneur Rōze Traore, who was also in attendance.

Wednesday evening saw us heading to NoMad, where The Ritz-Carlton’s new rooftop bar Nubeluz and a starry display of fragrant candles and sprays set the scene for an evening with Diptyque. Commemorating the perfumery’s partnership with the hotel, our tastebuds were treated to a cocktail experience like no other, while our where the glittering Manhattan skyline was the backdrop for artisanal sips that were a testament to Diptyque’s tried and true sensory expertise.

Last night, we attended a celebration with the Parisian High Jewelry house REZA at its home in New York City. Launching its commerce hub WORLD OF REZA, the brand is the first to go fully digital in the world of High Jewelry. In attendance commemorating the launch alongside REZA Creative Director and CEO, Olivier Reza, were names like Young Emporers, Katerina Tannenbaum, Lameka Fox, Alex Roth, Ruby Aldridge, and Raul Lopez. The evening encompassed a candlelit seated dinner, musical entertainment, dancing, and more.

Finally, we closed out the night at The Society of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s Annual Fall Party at The Plaza Hotel. Made possible by sponsor Valentino, the Associates Committee Chair Gillian Hearst, and event co-chairs Krista Corl, Breanna Khoury, Kimberly Nemser, and Marisa Rose Van Bokhorst, the philanthropic affair welcomed a guest list of names like Ivy Getty, Dani Stahl, Marcella and Gregg Hymowitz, Joanna Baker de Neufville and Peter de Neufville, Audrey Peters, Miguel Enamorado, and Ikponmwonsa Omoruyi. Raising funds for the organization’s Pediatric and Adolescent & Young Adult Fertility Preservation Fund, partygoers gathered in the hotel’s Grand Ballroom—outfitted for the evening by Ron Wendt Designs—where  cocktails, dinner, and dancing to sounds by DJ Twilo made for an evening that was enjoyed by all.
