Friday Fête: NYFW Soirees from Dior, Gucci, Buglari, and More

10 September 2021

New York Fashion Week is back in the Big Apple, and the busy week is full of cocktail events, galas, and parties to celebrate the new Spring/Summer 2022 collections. For this edition of Friday Fête, we’re taking you to some of our favorite soirees this week, including those by Gucci, Bvlgari, Dior, and more.

Gucci

On Wednesday night, Gucci greeted special guests to a continued celebration of independent young talent. For the downtown party at Gucci Wooster, the brand honored an emerging designer named Azède Jean-Pierre with entitled “Azède Powered by Gucci”—a knitwear-focused presentation of limited-edition pieces that are now available bi-coastally at Gucci Wooster and Dover Street Market Los Angeles. As they mingled in the space, VIPs in attendance—like Gucci’s CEO Marco Bizzarri, Wyclef Jean, and Susan Chokachi—enjoyed house music by the Haitian DJ, Michael Brun, who brought traditional Haitian styles of kompa and rara into a contemporary context.

Bvlgari

That night just a few blocks north, Bvlgari held an event at The Standard High Line for the presentation of its “B.zero1” collection. Hosted by the brand’s president, Daniel Paltridge, other attendees—including brand ambassadors Eiza Gonzalez, Lily Aldridge, and Martha Hunt—the night kicked off at the venue’s nightclub, Le Bain. In addition to the stunning views from the 18th floor, guests got a glimpse of show-stopping designs from the new collection and enjoyed a DJ set by Paul Sevigny. After a few cocktails, other guests like Irina Shayk, Amelia Gray Hamlin, Law Roach, Dove Cameron, and G-Eazy enjoyed a live performance by the Grammy-nominated duo Chloë x Halle.

Dior

Also that night but in Brooklyn, Dior welcomed an invite-only list of guests to the Brooklyn Museum to celebrate the opening of its “Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams” exhibition. The traveling show, curated by Florence Müller and Matthew Yokobosky, provided a surreal background for the cocktail event, showing over 70 years of haute couture garments, archival photographs and sketches, fragrances, accessories, and more. Guests including Maria Grazia Chiuri, Anne Pasternak, Swizz Beatz, Camila Coelho, Will Peltz, and Kacey Musgraves all wore Dior, joining others in attendance like Bernard and Alexandre Arnault, Pietro Beccari, Peter Marino, Jeffrey Deitch, and KAWS.

Tonight in Manhattan, Grey Goose is hosting the CR Fashion Week Party with Carine Roitfeld—the fashion mogul who last night was honored the Fashion Legend award at Daily Front Row’s Fashion Media Awards presentation. The soiree, held at the new Casa Cipriani, will provide a night of curated martinis by the fashion icon and founder of CR Fashion Book, as well as showcase special performances by Kaytranada and Sloo Joo Park.  Gigi and Bella Hadid, Hailey Beiber, Stella Maxwell, Lil Nas X, Candice Swanepoel, Winnie Harlow, Saweetie, Chanel Iman, and more join the start-studded guest list.
