For this edition of Friday Fête, we’re sharing details from dinners to parties hosted by Instagram, Lalique, LaQuan Smith, and more.
On Saturday in Manhattan at the Spring Street Salt Shed, Tombolo hosted a party in celebration of its latest collaboration with The City of New York Department of Sanitation. The event, named Le Garbáge Gala, paid homage to essential workers with music played by The Whooligan, cocktails and sparkling kombucha, hors d’oeuvres, and dancing until the late hours.
On Monday, in celebration of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s “In America: An Anthology of Fashion” exhibition and gala, Instagram welcomed attendees, creators, and table guests— SZA and Anderson .Paak—to its official after-party. Held at the James B. Duke House, the soiree remained in theme with gilded glamor as guests gathered inside the mansion to dance to live music beneath the grand hall’s chandeliers.
That night, LaQuan Smith also celebrated the Met exhibition with an afterparty at Edge at Hudson Yards, co-hosted by La La Anthony. Attendees were invited to Peak, the highest outdoor skydeck in the Western Hemisphere. Popeyes® introduced the first taste of their new buffalo ranch chicken sandwich before it launched in restaurants nationwide on May 3. For refreshments, well-dressed guests sipped on Rémy Martin cocktails.
This week, just in time for the Grand Prix in Miami, The Webster and RHUDE celebrated the launch of their first-ever collaboration, the Miami Grand Prix capsule. Founder and Creative Director Rhugi Villaseñor commented on his subconscious influence—his childhood pastimes of racing cartoons and Tamiya motor car toys—through his designs.
On Tuesday in New York, Restaurant DANIEL hosted a luncheon to debut the opening of the Art Deco-inspired bar by the French crystal company Lalique. The event was designed in collaboration with Chef Daniel Boulud to present an elevated dining environment decorated with artisanal crystal creations, and an immersive beverage served in the bespoke bar. Chef Daniel Boulud worked closely with Lalique to imbue the crystal glass creations, while special guests enjoyed a Michel- starred lunch, including a crab salad, salmon, and warm madeline cookies.
On Thursday in Miami, the singer and tech entrepreneur will.i.AM debuted an automobile with Mercedes-AMG named will.i.AMG. Under its moniker, “The Flip,” the project had the mission of giving students from disadvantaged communities access to “STEAM” education—science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
