We spent Monday evening at Jeffrey Deitch Gallery and Autre Magazine’s rooftop party at the Palm Springs-inspired Desert 5 Spot. The night set a fun, energetic mood for the week ahead thanks to musicians Mr. Pharmacist and Alima Lee, launching Frieze week with a bang. There, we saw Autre commemorating the launch of its latest issue Losing My Religion in collaboration with Nadia Lee Cohen and Pee-wee Herman at the beloved Hollywood party destination. In attendance were guests like Cohen (whose exhibition “HELLO, My Name Is” was featured at Jeffrey Deitch last year), and a host of names from the worlds of music, art, and film, including Louise Bonnet, Adam Silverman, Rain Phoenix, Rafa Esparza, Jena Malone, Ariana Papademetropoulos, Isabelle Albuquerque, and more.

Wednesday evening saw us joining in on a happy hour at dusk with art market platform Fairchain, hosted by its co-founders Max Kendrick and Charlie Jarvis alongside the entrepreneur Jae Joseph atop the roof of The West Hollywood EDITION. With sweeping views of the city—from the downtown skyline to the Pacific coast—we saw attendees like Hannah Traore, Ferrari Sheppard, Kulapat Yantrasast, Mickalene Thomas, Mashonda Tifrere, and Michael Nevin mingling over specialty cocktails with tropical and Southern Californian influences.

Next, we headed downstairs to the EDITION’s restaurant Ardor for dinner with the artist Sarah Bahbah, hosted by curator Afrodet Zuri, celebrating the release of Bahbah’s latest book of photographic works, Dear Love. With the restaurant’s abundant greenery overhead, Bahbah and her guests were treated to an intimate meal by the Michelin-starred chef John Fraser, whose menu for the evening featured dishes like milk bread and cleaver octopus, accompanied by Amy Racine’s beverage pairings. The sips included mezcal cocktails and specially-crafted non-alcoholic beverages named for chapters from the book, like “Summer Without a Pool” and “The Wild Ones.” Also on display, guests were able to view copies of the beautiful publication, which was accompanied by the release of the film work Untangled, reimagining the story of Rapunzel and featuring a partnership with Valentino Beauty.

After dinner, we headed to Serpentine Galleries’s annual Frieze celebration—a late-night party at the home of gallery council members Sybil Robson Orr and Matthew Orr. With DJ Mia Moretti heading the playlist, partygoers enjoyed beverages and conversation throughout the Orr’s home and poolside, complete with glittering views of the city below. In attendance that evening was a noteworthy guestlist including names like Aurora James, Hans Ulrich Obrist, Alex Israel, Bettina Korek, Orlando Bloom, Yves Behar, Torbjørn Rødland, Lauren Halsey, Shailene Woodley, and Leonardo Dicaprio.

Afterward, we stopped into the Frieze Week celebration of galleries Albertz Benda and Friedman Benda, hosted at their Marmont Lane space. Amid two stories of spectacular art and design, partygoers like Linda Marigliano, Felipe Pantone, Chris Wolston, Miki Rose, Taylor Mckimens, Humberto Campana, Devon DeJardin, and Michael Ashton gathered over beverages from Honey Bubbles, Aplos, and Yola Mezcal, taking in the inspired setting and dancing to tunes by DJ Jason Stewart.

Finally, we closed out the night with Henzel Studio at The West Hollywood EDITION’s Lobby Bar. There, signature sips from Moët Hennesy were enjoyed alongside a preview of the week-long exhibition of the studio’s magnificent carpet collaborations. Those in attendance like Alex Israel, Stephen Galloway, Joan Pablo Espinosa, Joakim Andreasson, and Jack Pierson were among the first to experience the large-scale carpet works installed throughout the hotel’s social spaces, which were curated by Andreasson, and featured collaborations with Helmut Lang, Tony Oursler, Jake & Dinos Chapman, Jwan Yosef, Andy Warhol, and Marilyn Minter.
