Get A Head Start on Gifting: The PK Gilded Holiday Collection

At a variety of price points, the Gilded collection includes prints, multiples, sculptures, frames, kitchenware, clocks, mirrors, and other décor including a special edition candle by Nir Hod,which was inspired by his series of paintings “I Want Always to Be Remembered in Your Heart” (recently on view at the gallery). Hod explained to Whitewall his inspiration for this special edition piece: “For the last three years I have been working on ‘I Want Always to Be Remembered in Your Heart’ and portraying the relationship between light and darkness. In creating the flowers in my paintings I deliberated for a long time about how I wanted to represent flames. I often looked at paintings of candles to inspire my exploration. I kept coming back to the flower with the flame; that moment when the flame catches your eye, like falling in love. I then wanted to translate the emotional moment into smell as well, so we worked on the right mix of scents. They had to play off each other, like beauty and destruction.”

The candle will debut alongside the other artist editions at PK Shop on 297 10th Avenue, November 5–December 23. The PK SHOP will also be opening at Art Basel Miami Beach in the form of a Light Show at the Soho Beach House from December 3–7.
