On November 5, the Assouline Bookstore, located inside the Plaza Hotel in New York, unveiled the brand-new autobiography of Giancarlo Giammetti (Valentino’s president) Private. This anthological work made up of numerous archival photographs and polaroids taken by Giammetti himself, sketches, interviews, and essays, fully retraces Giammetti’s own story and experience of the fashion house and gives the reader a genuine insight into his personal achievements and private life with Valentino.
Already offering the public a first showcase of their lives with the movie Valentino: The Last Emperor (2008), Giancarlo Giammetti allows us once again to explore their incredible story. However, this time, we explore it from his own eye and own interpretation of the past.
