Walking into the Guggenheim last night for the third annual Young Collectors Party was a treat. To celebrate those apart of the Young Collectors Council (YCC), a cocktail reception and dinner was held in the Guggenheim’s James Beard Award–winning restaurant for top members, and the party in the rotunda for all shortly followed.
Key sponsor of the night, David Yurman, had touches of his signature brand scattered throughout the night’s many facets—starting with the evening’s dinner, where colorful aluminum bracelets sufficed as napkin rings. To add to the Frank Lloyd Wright-designed rotunda in the museum’s main space, delicate light installations were seen adorning the many spiraling levels in a bright orange-red. The thin LED light fixtures were shining in cable-like designs, intended as a riff on David Yurman’s recognizable style. Between their streaks, we caught sight of the night’s Instagrammable “#YCCPARTY” hashtag, also in lights. There was a photo wall, an open bar, and, as one would imagine, many floors of inspiring art.
Alongside hosting event chairs Sarah Arison, Laura de Gunzburg, and Nell Diamond, and YCC co-chairs Noreen K. Ahmad and Anne Huntington, guests like Bradley Theodore, Cao Fei, Lucas Blalock, Bee Shaffer, and David Rothschild enjoyed the evening.
After talks of upcoming exhibitions, new pieces, and various art fair travels, midnight quickly rolled around, and the #YCCPARTY-goers trickled back out into the Upper East Side.
