Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink Raises More Than $1.6 Million for Breast Cancer Research

The fourth annual Hamptons Paddle & Party for Pink and the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) raised a record-breaking $1.6 million over the weekend. The summer soirée was co-hosted by Maria and Larry Baum, Lisa and Richard Perry, and Jackie and Bippy Siegal. The two-part event started on Saturday morning with a morning paddleboard race in Sag Harbor and ended with a sunset event on Mecox Bay in Bridgehampton.

Baum founded the annual fundraiser in 2012 after she was diagnosed with breast cancer and she began paddle boarding. “Paddle boarding is a personal reprieve for me. As a breast cancer survivor, the sport gave me and continues to give me a much-needed outlet. Sharing it with others while raising funds for life-saving research is my personal way of paying it forward,” said Baum, who currently serves as a BCRF board member.

Speakers at the event included Gwyneth Paltrow, who opened the party with a heart-filled speech for her close friend Baum, and Lena Dunham who spoke passionately about women’s health to over 600 guests. One-of-kind of paddleboards were auctioned off during the evening, designed and signed by Donna Karen, Aerin Lauder, Tory Bruch, Lisa Perry, Oprah, Bethenny Frankel, and more. Other attendees were Jane Krakowski, Matt Lauer, and Rachel Zoe & Rodger Berman. To top off the star-filled night was a performance by CHIC featuring Nile Rodgers, and afterward music by acclaimed DJ Brendon Fallis.
