This week, we’re covering Frieze London and its surrounding events. To give you an insider look at the city, we’re talking to those in-the-know, who are sharing their favorite spots to dine, drink, relax, and see art at. Below, we hear from co-founder of Paddle8 and co-CEO of The Native SA, Alexander Gilkes.
WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
For lunch, one of my favorite spots in London is Sweetings, a Victorian seafood restaurant with wonderful fish delivered from the British coastal towns. I usually have their Dover sole. For choice, I love to roam Borough Market and feast on the many stalls at the weekends and then saunter down the Thames to the Tate Modern. For scene, you can never go wrong with Scott’s for the power canteen.

WHERE TO SEE ART
My favorite London galleries are White Cube in Bermondsey and David Zwirner. As for museums, my top choices are Tate Modern, Serpentine, Sir John Soane’s Museum, and the National Portrait Gallery.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
I love to escape to the Cotswolds, where I grew up. My favorite place to stay is Barnsley House in their Potting Shed. After long walks, I will reward myself with an ale at The Village Pub or the nearby Victoria Arms.
