To give you an insider look at Miami for your stay during Art Basel, we’re talking to those in-the-know. Here, the co-founder of Miansai, Michael Saiger, shares his favorite spots to dine, drink, relax, and see art.
WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
I love eating at Planta. Their plant-based dishes have a lot of flavor, and they have their own rooftop garden, which informs their seasonal menu. I also love their banana bread—I get it every Sunday with my wife. My favorite cocktail spot in Miami is the bar at the Faena called the Living Room. I always get a tequila with cilantro and lime.

WHERE TO SEE ART
Design Miami/ and Art Basel are the two shows I look forward to annually. Design Miami/ is a cool place to discover new and emerging artists in those fields, and I really appreciate the creativity and aesthetic of their artists. For me, Art Basel is a classic and must-see—it always has the biggest and best range from all over the world.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
If you’re looking to really disconnect, The Spa at The Standard Hotel is by far the best place to do that. I can be there an entire night. At night, I go to Soho Beach House because they put up the tent on the beach that always has really good parties or events. It feels so good to be in the sand and that close to the ocean at night and is always something I look forward to.
