This week, Art Basel opens with 291 of the world’s leading galleries showing over 4,000 artists. There, attendees will find copies of Whitewaller Basel—out to help guide guests through the busy art fair and the surrounding city life in Basel, Berlin, and Zurich. Below, we’re sharing tips on where to go for dinner, drinks, and art inspiration from Gilli and Diego Stampa, the co-founders of STAMPA.
WHERE TO EAT AND SIP
For haute cuisine and great ambience, we suggest dining at Cheval Blanc and Brasserie Les Trois Rois, Stucki, or Bel Etage at Teufelhof. In case you prefer fresh sandwiches and delicious burgers, go to Brötli-Bar or Union. And these are great for having a drink or two: Concierge, Consum, Cargo, Irrsinn, 8 Bar, Les Trois Rois, or Bar Rouge.
WHERE TO SEE ART
At STAMPA gallery, of course. Besides our current exhibition, “Mit Natur zu tun / To Do with Nature,” all museums and galleries in Basel are presenting amazing shows and collections, however. So you’ll be spoiled for choice.
WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
Take a break along the Rhine, following the river in your imagination from its spring in the St. Gotthard massif through four countries to its North Sea mouth. After this silent journey, you’ll feel happy and relaxed.
Be sure to pick up your copy of Whitewaller Basel, out now.
