The Tent at the Soho Beach House in Miami Beach may as well have been a Bedouin tent in the Moroccan desert on Thursday, December 5, as it was filled with beautiful women wearing billowy kaftans and dresses from Issa’s cruise 2014 collection. A fashionable crowd of guests that included Derek Blasberg, Misha Nonoo and Nick Wooster took a break from the hectic pace of Art Basel in Miami Beach for a luncheon hosted by Issa London and Camilla Al Fayed to celebrate British fashion and fashion illustration.
An Issa underwater print from the cruise collection decorated the breezy beachside space in the form of drapery and pillows. Mark Ronson played a set of songs fit for a late night dance party, but given that it was only the afternoon, guests opted instead to mingle with each other and enjoy the view of the turquoise Miami Beach waters instead of showing off their moves.

And what did Al Fayed think of the large fashion presence during Miami’s art week? “I think art and fashion go hand in hand,” said Al Fayed. “At the end of the day, they’re both such creative industries — it’s a marriage made in heaven.”
It wasn’t just British fashion and fashion illustration that Issa was celebrating in Miami — the afternoon fete also served as a Miami coming out party of sorts — the Kate Middleton favorite is set to open a Miami location in the near future.
