The latest installment of Hermès‘ Vitrine D’Artiste program debuted early this month at the luxury house’s Beverly Hills boutique. Commissioned this time around was artist Katherine Daniels, who works in painting and sculpture to create compositions of colorful geometric patterns. Daniels is known for her exploration of craft-oriented techniques, like sewing, weaving, and beadwork.
For Hermès’ windows, she created Remembrance of Things Past: Morning, Noon and Evening, a floral sculpture inspired by Marcel Proust’s A` la recherché du temps perdu: matin, midi et soir. Through a beaded, abstract landscape, she tells the story of time, from morning to night, observed from a stroll in the garden.
