Kith for BMW Debuts Special Collaboration with Limited-Edition M4 Competition Vehicle

No contributor

Fashion house Kith has announced its debut partnership with automotive brand BMW. The multifaceted collaboration was inspired by childhood memories of Kith founder Ronnie Fieg, as a child riding through Queens with his grandfather. By channeling an aesthetic that combines the DNA of both brands, we see a new apparel collection, a special limited-edition automobile, and a one-off remake of the designer’s nostalgic red E30 M3 model.

“Some of my favorite memories from growing up came from going to visit my grandfather and riding around in his BMWs in the 1980s,” said Fieg. “These moments in my life really shaped my passion for BMW, so working on this project with them has brought everything full circle.”

Kith’s largest collection to date, the collaboration welcomes 94 pieces of clothing and accessories that blend iconic Kith styles with custom-milled materials in BMW’s quintessential palette of sporty hues like blue, white, black, and red. Available in Kith stores now, the collection features pieces like color-blocked sweaters and cardigans, a matching tracksuit, aviator sunglasses, beanies, sweatshirts, a plush robe, and a black leather bomber jacket. The collection also includes an array of car-centric accessories and home goods, like umbrellas, mugs, license plate frames, and microfiber towels. Each is complete with brand imagery—like “KITH” lettering and an unmissable hybrid Kith and BMW logo.

For the collaboration, Fieg also worked with BMW to create a one-of-a-kind rebuild of his personal 1989 E30 M3 model. Upholding the vehicle’s vintage aesthetic and original components, the pair added small but striking updates to its red boxy frame, like co-branded Kith and BMW emblems on the hood, trunk, and steering wheel, and a recrafted leather interior embossed with Kith’s monogram print.

Lastly, the culmination of the collaboration is the release of the M4 Competition car. Limited to 150 units worldwide, the sleek, sporty coupe took cues from Fieg’s E30 M3, like the merged brand logo and embossed leather interiors. Available in matte black, silver, or white finishes, the vehicle features top-of-the-line mechanics and the latest technologies, including the brand’s TwinPower Turbo 3 liter inline six-cylinder engine, over 500 horsepower, and options for an Advanced Driver Assistance system.

“With his unique collaboration approach and Kith label, Ronnie Fieg is an outstanding mind and leader in the fashion, lifestyle and luxury industries,” said BMW’s Customer and Brand senior vice president, Jens Thiemer. “Our collaboration with Ronnie and his influential brand will be a positive force for BMW as we explore new customer groups.”
