Koya Bar, Violet Cakes, and Artist Studios: Victor Wang’s London

For Frieze Week 2017, Whitewaller handpicked a few insiders—a select group of those in-the-know on all things London—that shared with us how to navigate the city during the art fair. Next up, we have curator Victor Wang, who shares his top spots to eat, drink, network, and relax this week.

WHERE TO EAT AND SIP?
Koya Bar: modest in its ambience, but their donburi’s exceed all expectations. Itadaki Zen: a Japanese restaurant that is 100% vegan. It’s also a 10 minute walk from the British Library, which is a plus for me. Violet Cakes: one word—cupcakes.

WHERE TO SEE ART
Why not visit an artist studio? Support an artist early on in their career (or gallery and institution). It would be nice to see more engagement early on in the development of an artistic practice. I also frequent public events, talks, panels, discussions, etc. It’s a great way to get more out of an exhibition.

WHERE TO HAVE FUN AND RELAX
In the park, and on the dance floor.
