La Beauté Louis Vuitton: Pat McGrath Shapes a New Beauty Collection

The maison’s first beauty line transforms everyday essentials into objets d’art under the creative direction of Pat McGrath.

Louis Vuitton is no stranger to crafting desire. From travel trunks and ready-to-wear to sneakers and accessories, the maison’s artistry has long defined the language of luxury. Now, in one of its most anticipated moves to date, Louis Vuitton enters the beauty sphere with the global debut of La Beauté Louis Vuitton—a standalone category of cosmetics. Launching globally this fall, the inaugural beauty collection introduces a debut line of lipsticks, lip care, and accessories.

Pat McGrath, who serves as the creative director of La Beauté Louis Vuitton, brings her signature expertise to the formulation and color selection, ensuring innovation and elegance. Known for redefining beauty standards on global runways, McGrath said of launching La Beauté Louis Vuitton, “It has been a dream to collaborate with Louis Vuitton on a collection that is both timeless and transformative. We focused on creating textures that feel indulgent, colors that flatter every skin tone, and packaging that becomes part of your style.”

La Beauté Louis Vuitton is as much an innovative line of beauty products as it is a coveted collection of objets d’art. Housed in sculptural forms designed by Nicolas Ghesquière, artistic director of Women’s Collections, in collaboration with industrial designer Marc Newson—behind the brand’s Objets Nomades and iconic Horizon luggage—the product is expertly crafted. By merging industrial design sensibilities with utilitarian movement and sleek style, each component, from the twist-up lipstick bullet to the refill insert, feels engineered with intention. Our favorite design element, stamped into every lipstick, compact, and accessory? The La Beauté Louis Vuitton emblem, a gorgeous flower inspired by the LV monogram.

The first release of La Beauté Louis Vuitton revolves around the Le Rouge Louis Vuitton lipstick line, including over 30 shades in three distinct finishes—matte, satin, and sheer. Matte offers intense color payoff with a soft, powdery feel; satin features depth and hydration; and sheer versions glide on with a glossy, translucent finish. Hero shades are expected to be Rouge d’Honneur, a classic crimson; Rose Nomade, a universally flattering pink; and Brun Fauve, a rich brown, reminiscent of the brand’s iconic leather tones. All finishes and shades are formulated using vegan ingredients, with a focus on high-impact pigments, long wear, and a luxurious feel. Housed in a minimalist, opulent case, the lipsticks are refillable too, aligning with the house’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

La Beauté Louis Vuitton introduces Le Soin des Lèvres—a dedicated lip care line designed to nourish the lips. Created to be part of a self-care ritual, as pre-makeup prep or to elevate an everyday moment, the collection features a Lip Balm, Lip Oil, and Lip Scrub. Encased in sleek, travel-friendly containers, each is formulated with hydrating ingredients like shea butter and jojoba oil. Additionally, new custom-designed accessories will be seen in for La Beauté Louis Vuitton, including a monogrammed lipstick case necklace. There’s also a travel case designed to carry a full set of lipsticks, refills, and lip care tools—recalling the maison’s early origins in travel and utility. These objects reflect a larger goal for the category: To blend functionality with emotional value, transforming beauty essentials into treasured keepsakes. 

The Future of Beauty at Louis Vuitton

The new lip collection will be available at Louis Vuitton stores worldwide and online, with select locations offering exclusive previews and personalization services. Other select flagships—including the Maison Champs-Élysées and the Louis Vuitton New York Fifth Avenue location—will host beauty installations to mark the launch, accompanied by content, digital try-ons, and video tutorials rolling out for the line’s debut. And while the first chapter of La Beauté Louis Vuitton centers on lips, the brand is developing an entire beauty universe, with future launches expected to include eyeshadow palettes, mascara, highlighters, blush, and foundation—all housed in similarly refillable, architecturally considered packaging.

With the collection, the maison has created a beauty line that is rich in detail, elegant in presentation, and deeply considered from every angle. In the same way, a Louis Vuitton trunk has always carried more than belongings—it has carried identity, story, and intent. The makeup line gives clients a new way to carry their aesthetic into the world. Here, design, heritage, and craftsmanship shine, but most importantly, so does self-expression.
