Last Monday saw Bally celebrating the 60th anniversary of its ascent to Mt. Everest. The London celebration was hosted by Dominic Cooper, Mat Collishaw, Mark Foster and Carl Barat. Bally’s determination to recreate the the historical scene was evident in their reconstruction of an Everest base camp, complete with archival footwear and camping gear.
The following Tuesday British Actor Harry Treadaway hosted a breakfast at the Burberry Menswear store in Knightsbridge to celebrate the start of London Collections. Among the events 100 plus guests were London Collections committee members Dylan Jones and Tinie Tempah. British Fashion Council members Caroline Rush and Natalie Massenet also made appearances.
Thursday evening in New York marked the opening of “NARCISSISTER is You.” The event was a solo exhibition by performance artists Narcissister and took place at envoy enterprises. Notable attendees included Santigold, Serge Becker, and E.V. Day.
Further uptown Acquavella Galleries hosted the ultra-private opening of Enoc Perez’s “The Good Days,” an exhibition of the artists’ new paintings, and his first foray into sculpture. Peter Brant, Aby Rosen, David Salle, John McEnroe, Bob Colacello, Vito Schnabel, David and Libbie Mugrabi, Stavros Niarchos and Bill Powers were all among the exclusive invitees.
The workweek concluded with the Second Annual Next Generation Party at the New Museum, which supports fundraising efforts for the 2015 Generational Triennial. Hosted by Toby Devan Lewis Director, Lisa Phillips and triennial curators, Lauren Cornell and Ryan Trecartin, the evening included musical performances by Teenage Fantasy, Lauren Devine and Murphy Maxwell, with DJ sets by Physical Therapy and Bryce Hackford. Other notable guests were Klaus Biesenbach, Alex Gartenfeld, Ruba Katrib, Brian “KAWS” Donnelly, Terry Richardson, and Andrea Rosen.
