Last Friday, luxury cashmere and wool apparel brand Loro Piana paid homage to New York City. Aboard Mathew Rhys’ boat, a Wheeler Playmate called the Rarebit that the actor acquired by fate as a lifelong fan of Ernest Hemingway, in addition to the 1920s mini-yacht Kingston, Loro Piana hosted a sunset cruise around lower Manhattan.

Before boarding, guests were gifted with Loro Piana’s classic White Sole shoes, a style designed with classic sailing shoes in mind. Following the cruise, attendees were escorted to the Casa Cipriani Rooms and Suites inside the iconic Battery Maritime building for dinner. The club’s Bartholdi Presidential Suite was outfitted in Loro Piana interior fabrics, including a cream herringbone linen, rich blue corded silk velvet, and warm black checked wool.
A cocktail hour was enjoyed by names like Julianna Margulies, Carla Gugino, Maye Musk, Nico Tortorella, Don Lemon, Vanessa Moody, Ubah Hassan, Alex Lundqvist, Sophie Sumner, and Loro Piana North America CEO Claudia Cividino, set to sounds of DJ William Grand. The suite’s wraparound terrace offered unobstructed river-front views of the Statue of Liberty where guests bid the summer farewell.
