The newly-debuted LVERS perfume from Louis Vuitton and Pharrell Williams continues the house’s fragrance realm, now over one year after the start of his tenure as Men’s Creative Director. The eau de parfum encapsulates Williams’ philosophy thus far at Louis Vuitton, presenting a vial of hope that imitates the beauties of the sun.
LVERS is the Latest Scent by Louis Vuitton’s Fragrance Atelier
Williams collaborated with Louis Vuitton’s Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud with continuous creative dialogue and the additional contributions of Camille Cavallier Belletrud. Crafted in the Louis Vuitton atelier at Les Fontaines Parfumées in Grasse, the maison’s designated scent studio in the south of France, LVERS is a welcome addition to Louis Vuitton’s esteemed fragrance portfolio.
“The theme of sunlight that lit up Pharrell’s debut show on Pont Neuf in June 2023 inspired us to convey photosynthesis in scent,”

With the fragrance, Belletraud and Williams aimed to transform the intangible sensations and visions of sunlight touching the skin into a material spray. First inspired by Williams’ debut June 2023 show, an event filled with hopeful warmth, the men’s fragrance draws from the powers of the sun and its rays as a source of energy, strength, and healing.
“The theme of sunlight that lit up Pharrell’s debut show on Pont Neuf in June 2023 inspired us to convey photosynthesis in scent,” explained Jacques Cavallier Belletrud. “It may sound abstract, but if you look at life, photosynthesis is the starting point for everything.”
Pharrell Finds Inspiration in the Sun for LVERS
To encapsulate the warmth of solar rays, the maison looked to the scientific process of photosynthesis as an informant for the fragrance. To its creators, photosynthesis is a prime example of the unique role of the sun, as it contributes to the constant revitalization of the rest of nature: fresh grass, earthly tree trunks, and soft leaves are among the key players in this glorious cycle.
LVERS is filled with ingredients known for their healing qualities that are rooted in ancient tradition. Notably, the fragrance includes key notes of galbanum, a distinctly scented and rarely utilized resin of the ferula plant that served as a unique and powerful healing remedy in Ancient Greece. Described as a “centuries-old scent” by the maison, galbanum contributes to the LVERS’ delicate yet strong woody and green aroma, as the oil is distinctly associated with forestry and greenery.
The maison combines LVERS’ core galbanum scent harmoniously with an addition of ingredients that further echo the healing qualities of the sun; Sandalwood harnesses a creaminess and tranquility into the mix, bergamot contributes zest and lightness, and ginger provides a crisp freshness.
These factors coalesce into an eau de parfum that extends beyond a scent to an olfactory experience representative of a more holistic notion–in this case, sunshine.
LVERS is Accompanied by Pharrell Williams’ Signature Damoflage
In addition to the release of LVERS, Louis Vuitton presents a travel case for a single bottle and fragrance trunk for three bottles. These new introductions are decorated in Pharrell Williams’ green Damoflage motif, a melange of the maison’s traditional Damier pattern with a camouflage motif. This design has recurred throughout Williams’ tenure and represents the personal flair that the Creative Director brings to the fashion house.
