Louis Vuitton and Jeff Koons recently shook up the fashion and art worlds by collaborating on a new collection called the “Masters.” Iconic Louis Vuitton bags—such as the Speedy, the Keepall, and the Neverfull—have been transformed, now featuring the reimagined masterworks by artists like Leonardo da Vinci, Titian, Rubens, Fragonard, and Vincent Van Gogh.
Last Thursday over cocktails, W Magazine hosted guests at Louis Vuitton’s pop-up store at 655 Madison Avenue (open until July 31) to celebrate the new collection. There, Stefano Tonchi, W’s editor in chief, and Lanessa Elrod, president and CEO of Louis Vuitton Americas, welcomed other culture leaders in to explore the latest creations. With this new collection, the brand’s iconic “Art of Travel” ethos shines bright, and with an old-world-meets-new-world vibe.
