Yesterday was a busy one for Louis Vuitton, hosting bicoastal celebrations for its latest projects across the U.S. On the East Coast, the maison introduced a special savoir-faire studio on Shelter Island, commemorating its opening with an exclusive party in Sag Harbor. Meanwhile, in Beverly Hills, it debuted “200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition” with a star-studded party taking place on Rodeo Drive.

In New York, the Louis Vuitton savoir-faire studio—a traveling initiative that has seen iterations in locations like Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Miami—takes place in an exquisite modernist home overlooking the water on Shelter Island. There, visitors may schedule appointments (now through August 7) to experience its commitment to craftsmanship. The meticulously curated selection includes Objets Nomades items and furniture, jewelry, watches, special trunks, and exotic creations, all staged beautifully in the location’s glass stays, bathed in light, and awaiting the gaze of visitors.
Following a preview of the studio, guests were transported from Shelter Island to Sag Harbor’s Le Bilboquet by yacht for a private sunset celebration. Overlooking the bay, attendees like Casey Fremont, Sophia Roe, Coco Bassey, Deon Hinton, Maria Duenas Jacobs, Tanner Reese, Athena Calderone, and Derek Blasberg toasted to the new venture while enjoying DJ sets by Romy and Michael Bachman.

Meanwhile, on the West Coast, the launch of the Los Angeles edition of the traveling presentation “200 Trunks, 200 Visionaries: The Exhibition” was celebrated. Open and free to the public until September 6, the exhibition was first conceived in honor of Monsieur Louis Vuitton’s 200th birthday and invited contributions from 200 creative visionaries. Previous iterations have taken place in Singapore and Asnières, France.
The exhibition engages viewers before they even step foot within its walls, beginning with a takeover of the monumental façade at 468 North Rodeo Drive, its towering windows covered entirely with swirling red-and-white stripes. Once indoors, the immersive environment showcases 200 one-of-a-kind trunks (fashioned after the original 1850s design, each measuring 50 x 50 x 100 centimeters) created in collaboration with names like Supreme, Alex Israel, Gloria Steinem, Nigo, Lego, Fornasetti, Hans Ulrich Obrist, and Peter Marino.
Amid the vibrant installation of trunks—holding noteworthy spaces like a room designed by the Brooklyn Balloon Company and Robert Moy, an enclave dedicated to Frank Ghery, an audio speakeasy by Benji B., and more—partygoers mingled last night, like Jaden Smith, Shay Mitchell, Iris Apatow, Thuso Mbedu, Kaitlyn Dever, and Nina Dobrev. The evening was complete with live music provided by DJs M.I.A., Lola Langusta, and Bobby French.
