The “Crafting Dreams” exhibit, on view for private tours through May 5, offers visitors a trip through all the incredible history the 130-year-old house has to offer. As visitors climb the winding staircase, they are met with striking vignettes inside a Louis Vuitton universe– complete with archival objet, homewares, jewelry, and, of course, beautiful men’s and womenswear.

Louis Vuitton’s “Crafting Dreams” in New York
Some of the most exciting items on view are remarkable watches inside a giant jewelry box, a hanging disco chair by the Campana Brothers, and several incredible offerings from Frank Gehry’s collaboration. One particularly special reveal is the much-anticipated Millionaire Speedy 40, created by Men’s Creative Director Pharrell Williams for his inaugural collection. This remarkable piece boasts 18K gold hardware and a hand-painted monogram, crafted over sixty-five hours and elegantly presented in a custom hard-sided trunk. The bag is the centerpiece of the menswear room, which also features whimsically masculine, historic pieces like the Casino Trunk, the Billiards Trunk, and a portable bar cart.

The Immersive Experience is on View through May 5
The immersive experience not only features immaculate stagings of Louis Vuitton’s clothing and wares but also includes unexpected amusements. Bespoke trunks are customized with live art by Chiharu Sei. Elegant tablewares are set in a dinner party installation, complete with another incredible hard-sided trunk spinning vinyl records. The brand’s Perfume Atlas, complete with 45 fragrance samples, sits among the offerings. Visual art by Richard Prince hangs on the wall, reminding visitors of the house’s rich history of collaboration with the fine art world.

“Crafting Dreams” celebrates all facets of Louis Vuitton’s history and future. Even the most studied fans of the brand will find something unexpected in its seven floors. Tours are available by private appointment through May 5th.
