Louis Vuitton and the Miami Design District launched CultureXChange on May 11, a new ongoing cultural conversation in Miami. The first event featured a talk with filmmaker and artist Harmony Korine, moderated by Chief Curator & Deputy Director of ICA Miami Alex Gartenfeld, followed by a panel discussion with CEO & President of Dacra Craig Robins and Founder of Cultured Sarah Harrelson.
Korine, whose films include Kids (1995) and Spring Breakers (2012), is now based in Miami, as he gets ready to make three movies there, setting up his studio in the Design District, as well. “Next for me as an artist is just burning it up. Tearing it up, lighting things on fire, just making it look good,” he said the night of CultureXChange.
“I like the Design District. I love what Craig’s doing here. It’s cool,” he shared. “You got art, my studio’s here, places to eat, beautiful women, i enjoy it.”
