Yesterday in Beverly Hills, Lucy Sparrow—the British contemporary artist known for her handmade felt creations—debuted a holiday installation entitled “All The Fun Of The Fair” for Hermès. Now seen in the windows at the brand’s flagship boutique on Rodeo Drive are holiday treats inspired by Sparrow’s childhood at the seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare. Additionally, there are bits of influence from its counterpart destinations of Coney Island and Santa Monica—playfully seen in soft felt environments mimicking carousels, candy shops, and claw cranes.
“I believe felt will be the perfect vehicle to convey the true holiday spirit and excitement of this time of year,” said Sparrow. “I want for people to stop walking in their tracks and notice the display and be intrigued to find out more. It’s supposed to capture the playful nature of the felt.”

From the outside, the window installations are bright and inviting. Mixed among felt Hermès bags, perfumes, and candies sewn together by Sparrow are some of the brand’s actual purses and fragrances. For the holidays, the meaning behind Sparrow’s message, coupled by Hermès’ dedication to art, is felt.
