Maison Boucheron Dazzles at Kering’s Women in Motion Dinner During Cannes

At Kering’s annual Women in Motion dinner during Cannes Film Festival, Maison Boucheron adorned actors, filmmakers, and international talents in high jewelry creations that reflected the season’s biggest red carpet trends—from statement brooches to sculptural diamonds and archival-inspired glamour.

As Cannes Film Festival transforms the Croisette into a parade of premieres, yachts, and after-hours glamour, Kering’s annual Women in Motion dinner remains one of the festival’s most anticipated gatherings. Held at a château overlooking the French Riviera, the event honors women shaping cinema while quietly becoming one of the strongest showcases for high jewelry on the Cannes calendar.

This year marked the initiative’s eleventh edition, with Julianne Moore receiving the Women in Motion Award as guests gathered for cocktails, speeches, and a sunset dinner hosted by François-Henri Pinault. Yet beyond the red carpet, Maison Boucheron emerged as one of the evening’s defining visual signatures, adorning talents including Salma Hayek Pinault, Han So-hee, Colman Domingo, Demi Moore, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Xavier Dolan, and more. Increasingly positioning its creations as conceptual design objects rather than simple red carpet accessories, the maison’s presence reflected how Cannes continues to blur the lines between cinema, fashion, and contemporary ornamentation.

The evening also reflected broader jewelry trends currently dominating the red carpet. Brooches, long associated with archival dressing and menswear ornamentation, appeared repeatedly throughout the night in modernized forms.

Han So-hee wore a trio of diamond Lierre de Paris brooches pinned against a soft pastel pink Maygel Coronel gown, transforming the classic accessory into something sculptural and youthful. Xavier Dolan similarly embraced the resurgence of statement brooches with the New Sarpech piece from the Histoire de Style, New Maharajahs High Jewelry collection, while Pierre Niney opted for the Untamed brooches from Histoire de Style “Nom: Boucheron Prénom: Frédéric.” Together, the pieces reinforced how archival-inspired jewelry and decorative placement have re-emerged as one of Cannes’s defining styling gestures.

Nature Motifs and Graphic Diamonds

Nature-inspired motifs also threaded through many of the maison’s selections. Ivy leaves, serpents, feathers, arrows, and octopus-inspired forms echoed Boucheron’s longstanding fascination with organic movement and transformation. The recurring Quatre Radiant Edition pieces worn by several guests—from Natasha Andrews to Raline Shah—added another layer of cohesion, highlighting the continued popularity of stackable geometric high jewelry with graphic Art Deco undertones.

At the center of the evening’s glamour was Salma Hayek-Pinault, who arrived wearing a sculptural white textured gown by Demna, as the designer’s Gucci Cruise presentation in Times Square continued buzzing across the internet earlier. Her jewelry balanced the sharp modernity of the dress with Boucheron’s intricate craftsmanship: dramatic Acanthe earrings set with over 31 carats of emeralds and diamonds, alongside two Miroirs Infinis rings from the Carte Blanche, Contemplation, High Jewelry collection. Combining jade, rock crystal, white gold, and pavé diamonds, the pieces reflected the maison’s ongoing exploration of illusion, reflection, and architectural form.

Elsewhere, Colman Domingo layered Boucheron jewelry with his now-signature maximalist ease, combining the Octopus ear motif from the Carte Blanche, Ailleurs collection with diamond-encrusted Quatre bracelets and a striking Address ring centered around a 4.31-carat diamond. Demi Moore opted for sharper monochromatic elegance through the Col necklace from Histoire de Style, The Power of Couture, paired with Vendôme Liseré pendant earrings and Chevron Ring details accented with black lacquer.

Several guests leaned into softer botanical references. Daisy Edgar-Jones paired emerald-set Lierre de Paris earrings with the Quatre Radiant Edition necklace. While Dilan Çiçek Deniz paired the Lierre de Paris earrings with the dramatic Acanthe Question Mark necklace and Plume de Paon ring.Tao Okamoto and Elsa Zylberstein embraced variations of the Serpent Bohème line, whose fluid diamond motifs have become one of the maison’s enduring signatures.
