Another iteration of New York Fashion Week (NYFW) has ended in the city that never sleeps, but it wouldn’t be a proper week of presentations without a suite of afterparties. Below, Whitewall highlights a selection of memorable events, hosted by brands like Off-White, LUAR, Sabyasachi, and more.
Luisaviaroma Arrives on Bond Street
At the start of NYFW on Wednesday, September 4, Luisaviaroma opened its doors to a brand-new New York flagship at 1 Bond Street. The evening was a star-studded affair, inviting VIPs—like Matt Damon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Amber Valleta, and Nicky Hilton Rothschild—to peruse the new shop and enjoy an exclusive performance by musician Charlotte Lawrence. Throughout the evening, culinary artist Laila Gohar created a series of gastronomic sculptures on museum-style plinths—like busts made of butter and chocolate—that were inspired by the store’s design.
Nili Lotan Opens Its First Men’s Store
On Thursday, across from Nili Lotan’s flagship store on Duane Street in TriBeCa, the brand opened its first-ever men’s store. Designed as an homage to her husband and partner, David Broza, it incorporates their shared aesthetic and interests, featuring rock-and-roll motifs and plenty of guitars, which symbolize their commitment to One Million Guitars—a non-profit that helps support music education for children across the world. Special guests included Inez and Vindoodh, KOZO, Harrison Bader, Jake Clark, and others.
By Alexander Reveals a New Space
September 5 also marked Alexander Grant’s new retail concept store, By Alexander, at 66 Greene Street. In addition to the retail space on the first floor, the shop will also feature a curated selection of vintage Raf Simons and MM6 Maison Margiela pieces, selected in partnership with fashion archivist David Cassavant. The store’s additional floors will serve as multipurpose creative spaces where interested guests can record music, design, and create. Guests including Quincy Brown, Natasha Parker, and Tavares Strachan danced to the music of Nick Hadad and enjoyed a special performance by Cash Cobain.
Marc Jacobs x Highsnobiety
No NYFW is complete without a kick-off party at Boom at The Standard, High Line. This season, on Thursday, too, Highsnobiety celebrated its September 2024 cover featuring Marc Jacobs and Bad Gyal. The latter climbed onto the famed bar for a lively late-night performance, entertaining guests like Offset, KOZO, Jeremy Pope, Emma Brooks, Meredith Duxberry, and Olivia Ponton, among others.
Harper’s Bazaar Hosts Its ICONS Party
The Harpers Bazaar ICONS party has been held at The Plaza Hotel for years, yet this year it opted for an intimate gathering at New York’s oldest bistro and current hotspot, Le Veau d’Or. Hosted by Samira Nasr and held to celebrate the magazine’s cover star, Naomi Campbell, the party was a gathering of some of the city’s most iconic names, including Fran Lebowitz, Tracee Ellis Ross, Martha Stewart, and countless others.
Off-White Celebrates Its First New York Show
On Sunday, September 8, for the first time, Off-White moved its anticipated show from the Paris Fashion Week calendar to the New York one, hosting its Spring/Summer 2025 presentation by IB Kamara at Brooklyn Bridge Park. That night’s after-party brought the same energy that Off-White and the brand’s founder, Virgil Abloh, were known for, taking over The Manner—a new hospitality concept from the team behind The Standard. Guests included Madonna, Victoria Monet, Flavor Flav, and David Banda who danced until late to sounds by DJs Moma, Carrie Stacks, Eden Berkele, and Carla Genus.
LUAR Paints Rockefeller Center Gold
On Tuesday, September 10, Raul Lopez of LUAR took over Rockefeller Center to stage both his runway show and after-party. The soiree, created in partnership with American Express and paying homage to its gold card, counted Madonna, Jordan Chiles, Tinashe, Whitney Port, Dylan Penn, Ice Spice, and A$AP Ferg as guests—all who danced the night away on the ice-rink-turned-dancefloor.
Maison Orveda x Infiniment COTY Paris Find a New Home
On September 11, the French biotech skincare brand, Orveda, and the haute parfumerie collection, Infiniment COTY Paris, opened the doors to an Upper East Side flagship store. Guests—including Helena Christensen, Leslie Bibb, Lexi Wood, Joe Holder, and Laura Love—immersed themselves into the Orveda universe, where luxury and art blend seamlessly for visitors to shop respective collections and book treatments. DJ Vashtie kept attendees dancing all night, and at the end, everyone was treated to a special performance by the one and only Moses Sumney.
Sabyasachi Toasts to the Great Elephant Migration
On Tuesday, September 10, one of India’s most famed fashion designers, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, welcomed guests into his lavish West Village store to celebrate the launch of the Great Elephant Migration—a global fundraising initiative that features 100 life-sized Indian elephant sculptures that travel around the world to promote the peaceful coexistence between humans and wildlife. Guests like Martha Stewart, Carolina Herrera, Nina Garcia, Jessel Tank, and Maxwell Osbourne sipped Dom Pérignon, enjoyed caviar bites, and indulged in decadent desserts.
Teton Ridge Hosts a Rodeo
Capping off the end of NYFW on Thursday in the Meatpacking District was one of the week’s most innovative events, hosted by Teton Ridge, the premier brand in Western sports, entertainment, and lifestyle. There to celebrate award-winning horseman Adan Banuelos’ short film, “Horse Sense,” part of a six-part series, guests like Yolanda Hadid, Jenna Lyons, and Dascha Polanco joined on the area’s cobblestone streets, which were closed off to horses for live demonstrations by both Banuelos and his girlfriend, the equestrian and model Bella Hadid. The premiere was also supported by the luxury Western brand from Aspen, Kemo Sabe, who is hosting its own pop-up on the same block.
RIMOWA’s Bodega at WSA
That night, as well, RIMOWA took the traditional New York bodega and reimagined it at WSA. Creatives from all industries gathered to celebrate the release of the brand’s sleek aluminum bag, The Original, displayed in bodega-like refrigerators. Guests like Joe Holder, Aurora James, Saint JHN, and Chris Brickley danced to a set by DJ Mona Matsuoka while enjoying traditional bodega snacks and espresso martinis.
